Psynesthesia is a multidisciplinary art project and a collection of 1024 NFTs blending psychology, generative-art and photography.
It’s is an attempt to visualize personality traits thanks to generative art as well as an photography project. The name comes from the combination of “Psychology” and “Synestesia”, which is a concept where people can “hear” colors or “see” sounds.
The whole collection is available on OpenSea, where the NFTs are living on the Ethereum blockchain.

By answering to the Big Five Personality Test, which is the model assumed in most personality research in the psychology field, participants are able to generate an unique artwork linked to their results. Three versions of the test are available for different accuracy.
Each score’s combination is generating a unique artwork and NFT, thanks to an algorithm coded with p5.js.
So on, each personality trait is linked to a different variable that influences the outcome of the artwork. For example, higher the agreeableness is, warmer the colors are; Higher the extraversion is , more the connections are developed; or more the neuroticism is high, less colorful the artwork will be.

Psynesthesia is also a photography project that can be followed on the @studio.rubens Instagram account.
With the help of a projector, the relevant artwork is projected on participant’s face to give unique and original fine art portraits.
Owning an original NFT (not second hand) grants participants a photoshoot free of charge. It’s also possible to book one independently for a fixed price, the studio being located in Tel Aviv (for now).
Founded in 1986, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.
MAPS helps scientists design, fund, and obtain regulatory approval for studies of the safety and effectiveness of a number of controlled substances. MAPS works closely with government regulatory authorities worldwide such as the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to ensure that all of its sponsored research protocols conform to ethical and procedural guidelines for clinical drug research. Included in MAPS’ research efforts are MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); LSD and psilocybin for the treatment of anxiety, cluster headaches, and depression associated with end-of-life issues; ibogaine for the treatment of opiate addiction, ayahuasca for the treatment of drug addiction and PTSD; medical cannabis for PTSD; and alternative delivery systems for medical cannabis such as vaporizers and water pipes. MAPS officials say the organization’s ultimate goal is to establish a network of clinics where these and other treatments can be provided together with other therapies under the guidance of trained, licensed physicians and therapists.
